ABOUT ME

Gabrielle Tazewell is a second year Journalism major from South Orange, NJ. She attends Hampton University located in Hampton, Virginia. Gabrielle plans on earning her bachelors degree in Journalism, as well as continuing to progress her love for fashion and natural hair care. Her goals are to enlighten and inspire the natural hair community. She wants all women to feel empowered through their natural hair no matter the shape, size or texture.

As time progressed, I fell in love with my natural hair. As a child, I couldn't understand my curly hair. I'd often question why my hair was always so big and never straight, due to society's demands for having "tamed n straight hair." It wasn't until I came home from my my freshman year of spring break, where I decided to love my curls and go fully natural. I want all women with textured hair to embrace their curly cues while feeling beautiful inside and out.
